Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Paralegal.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for supporting NYU Langone Health's legal contracting functions and for providing general administrative support, primarily for the Associate General Counsel & Director (Supply Chain Management, IT & Pharmacy) and for the Associate General Counsel (Supply Chain Management & IT).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with initial contract review and drafting of legal documents, templates and contracts.
  • Work with the attorneys to respond to third party subpoenas.
  • Create, maintain and track attorneys’ assignments daily, update contract tracking management system (e.g. ONIT) and produce reports.
  • Prepare initial agreements and contracts for SCM, Pharmacy and IT based on templates under attorneys’ supervision (e.g. NDA, affidavits, purchase agreements).
  • Draft and edit reports, presentations, forms and other legal documents.
  • Assist attorneys with assembling educations/training/ research materials and document production (including exhibits, presentations).
  • Pro-actively coordinate with attorneys in proofreading legal documents, such as commercial, procurement, pharmacy and information technology contracts, presentations and legal memoranda, for clarity and grammar.
  • Conduct legal research as needed.
  • Work with the attorneys to create, update and maintain contract templates and clause library in legal departments’ contract management system (e.g. Determine/Onit).

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
- Compose correspondence and memoranda in connection with existing client matters; assist in scheduling assigned attorneys appointment calendars and reserving conference rooms for meetings.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with personnel in other NYU Langone Healths departments to facilitate cooperation in carrying out responsibilities.
- Prioritize work while keeping appropriate attorney(s) apprised of project status; lead and coordinate other special projects, legal support tasks and administrative duties as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a  2 year Associates degree with paralegal training or 4 year Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience as paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department in the contracting area
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; solution oriented
- Ability to work effectively with internal staff and outside counsel, and experience in working with diverse clients
- Excellent organizational and project management skills; detail-oriented, highly organized, proactive and able to work well independently; experience establishing and maintaining complex filing systems and ability to organize and analyze large volumes of information and documents
- Excellent judgment and communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Able to work collaboratively and effectively while handling multiple projects under pressure on various timelines in an extremely fast-paced environment with accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with a contract management system (e.g. Determine/Onit) highly preferred.
- Experience in reviewing IT contracts and licenses highly preferred.
