Director, Specialty Compliance And Ethics - Digital Values

Interested in cutting edge tech and data uses? Care about the digital value of people and their information? The Director-Digital Values will help shape Walmart’s ethical use of data and responsible use of technology as we work at transforming ourselves and the retail experience for our Customers and Associates.

We are looking for a bright and ambitious candidate to join the Walmart Digital Values Team.  The Director-Digital Values is a critical role that works with key stakeholders to develop item-level policies for Digital Values.  This role will be a critical part of facilitating our business with digital transformation initiatives.  You will help shape the company’s policies and procedures regarding the responsible use of emerging technology.  Reporting to the Senior Director of Digital Values, you’ll work to aid in resolving challenges and questions with respect to policy applicability.

You’ll sweep us off our feet if:

  • You’re stimulated and motivated by challenges and are ready to engage at a Fortune 1 scale
  • You have a background in compliance, business, law, or policy development
  • You have experience or a demonstrated interest in biometrics, artificial intelligence, emerging technology and data ethics
  • You have a great eye for detail and can draft simple, clear, and concise policies, whitepapers, and presentations
  • You are comfortable communicating with senior and executive leadership
  • You’re organized, disciplined, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • You’re a master at making complex subjects easily understood through text and visuals
  • You “get things done” and have a “can do” attitude

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Drafting Policies and Analyzing Issues Related to Our Policies – Work with our business, legal and other partners to understand needs, priorities, and regulations, in developing policies and controls related to ethical data use and operationalizing them
  • Leading Initiatives – Take ownership in multiple team objectives and implementing a plan of action, including in monitoring policy compliance and effectiveness  
  • Leveraging Tools – Researching best practices, models, and frameworks to efficiently manage workflow and manage policy compliance
  • Building strategic relationships: Maximize relationships with business partners to understand their business and create programming, awareness and education customized to their business areas
  • Operating with excellence – Set an example in managing to KPIs, delivering excellence, presenting at all levels, managing projects, and establishing yourself as a subject matter expert on good governance in emerging technology.

Minimum Qualifications...

As permitted by applicable law, provide evidence of full vaccination as defined by CDC guidelines OR secure approval of medical or religious accommodation for the vaccination mandate., Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 5 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 3 years’ supervisory experience. 4 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
