Capital One’s Financial Services (“FS”) Division is headquartered in Plano, Texas, and is a leader and pioneer in the auto-finance industry that specializes in delivering Ai and tech-enabled auto-finance solutions to dealerships and consumers alike. As the Senior Director, Associate General Counsel leading the Servicing Legal Team, you will lead a team and support the Servicing business across its full range of activities, including onboarding new accounts, payments, accounts in default, credit bureau reporting and complaints.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing strategic legal advice on a variety of complex issues and topics
Translating laws, regulations, and legal requirements into clear and actionable guidance
Developing systems and frameworks for evaluating and minimizing risks (legal, compliance, reputational or otherwise) to the business.
Recognizing trends externally and issues internally to drive solutions proactively
Building relationships and collaborating with business stakeholders in wide-ranging roles
Understanding business needs and providing appropriate solutions to reach the desired goals
Working collaboratively with other members of the Legal Department to provide advice in a consistent, well-reasoned manner
Inspiring your team
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
At least 10 years of legal counsel experience in a law firm, in house or in government
At least 5 years of litigation experience as a legal counsel or advising on matters of regulatory compliance
3+ years of experience in advising financial services (banking, mortgage, or auto-finance)
Ability to work effectively both in teams and independently, make effective and integrated decisions, and collaborate effectively with associates at all levels in the company
Ability to deal with ambiguous situations, complex concepts, and details
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence others
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
