Upon direction of the County Attorney, the Assistant County Attorney III provides legal advice, representation, and/or legal services to County departments or its affiliated agencies, including, but not limited to, Accounting, Assessor, Facilities, Extension, Finance and Administration, Clerk and Recorder, Coroner, Human Resources, Health, Human Services, Justice Services, Planning, Public Works, Purchasing, Records, Sheriff, and Treasurer.

The ideal candidate will be an articulate, decisive, and highly motivated individual who possesses excellent political acumen and awareness. The successful candidate will be able to thoroughly research and analyze problems, evaluate but not fear risk, develop sound conclusions and decisive recommendations, as well as having the ability to intelligently explain legal concepts to different levels of audiences in a clear and direct manner. This person should enjoy working in a collaborative environment and have the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. A professional with effective communication and interpersonal skills is needed to build productive working relationships. Dedication to public service, ensuring the public’s trust, a strong work ethic, exceptional analytical skills, creativity, flexibility, and sound judgment are essential. An attorney with expertise in the courtroom is highly desirable.

Education and Experience
Juris Doctorate and 1-2 years’ experience depending on level of position.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Licensed to practice law in the state of Colorado, and in good standing. License to practice in Federal District Court preferred, but not required.
