Sr. Labor & Employment Counsel

Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for Senior Labor & Employment Counsel in our World Headquarters located in Denver, Colorado.

Senior Counsel will work under the direction of General Counsel and Associate General Counsel - Labor & Employment. This role will provide legal counseling, advice and representation on a variety of labor, employment, benefits, and worker's compensation matters.

Applicants can expect to make between $140,000 to $170,000 upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for a target incentive bonus under our variable incentive plan.

This position is based out of the Johns Manville global headquarters in Denver, CO. This is also a flexible work arrangement with both in-office and remote workdays.

Your Day To Day:

• Provide legal advice, counsel, and representation for the Company on a variety of employment and labor law compliance issues.
• Conduct investigations into allegations of violation of policy, procedure or law.
• Represent the Company before regulatory agencies, conduct investigations into regulatory charges, prepare position statements and other responsive documents to be filed with the agency, prepare witnesses and participate at on-site investigations.
• Represent the Company at formal and informal mediation and arbitration.
• Conduct legal research and analyze legal issues with a focus on providing the business with legally compliant solutions that meet business needs.
• Draft and finalize documents, including policies, correspondence, procedures, agreements, contracts, benefit plans and communication materials.
• Develop and provide training to all levels of the organization.
• Develop and maintain expertise in the areas of practice and proactively identify issues of concern for the company.
• Supervise outside counsel in handling litigation matters.
• Provide advice, counsel and oversight regarding immigration issues.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

What You Bring To The Team:

• Juris Doctorate from a top law school with strong academic credentials.
• Member in good standing of any U. S. state bar.
• 8-12 years of experience in legal practice.
• Experience in litigation/arbitration/mediation
• Experience practicing at a large law firm preferred.
• Highest level of integrity and ethics.
• Interest in professionally developing into an expanded role.
• Demonstrated ability to work creatively, efficiently, and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Superior organization and project management skills.
