In this role, you will serve as legal counsel to the Bank, the Boards of Directors of the head office and three branches, and to all officers and departments on legal matters affecting the Bank. You will conduct complex, independent research and analysis, including interpreting case law, statutes, and regulations to provide guidance to others in conducting Bank operations, determining compliance with applicable law, handling outside litigation, and reviewing and drafting contracts and other legal documents
Conducts independent research and analysis, including interpreting case law, statutes, and regulations to determine compliance with applicable law.
Drafts or reviews legal documents affecting Bank operations.
Reviews requests for proposals and contracts under which the Bank acquires goods and services.
Supports and advises on the Bank's data privacy program.
Advises and counsels on legal issues related to the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and other applicable labor/employment laws.
Assists in Bank's response to information requests.
Serves as appropriate on System subcommittees.
Conducts training on legal issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school required.
Licensed to practice law in a state, and commit to become licensed in Missouri as soon as practical.
General legal training and a broad knowledge of legal principles in a number of areas, typically gained through three or more years of relevant experience.
Litigation experience preferred, but not required.
Strong writing skills as demonstrated by law review membership or equivalent.
Ability to work independently with direction.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
