The Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Belonging is a newly created position reporting directly to the Dean. As the chief diversity officer of the Law School, the Assistant Dean will be responsible for strengthening and advancing the Law School’s commitment to being a diverse and equitable institution in which every member feels an equal sense of belonging. The Assistant Dean will work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and senior leadership to support ongoing activities across the Law School. They will also identify, recommend, and lead the development of new and innovative Law School initiatives across all areas of Law School planning and operations. The Assistant Dean will develop tracking measures for the Law School’s diversity, equity, and belonging goals, and be responsible for monitoring and reporting on progress.
A diversity champion, the Assistant Dean will serve as a strategic thinker, an advisor, and an implementer. Specific areas of responsibility will include:
