Associate Attorney

Position Summary:

As an Associate Attorney in our legal department, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our attorney clients to aid in some of the largest wrongful death, TBI, catastrophic personal injury, and major wrongful convictions & incarceration settlements and verdicts.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Principal & General Counsel to provide high-quality legal services to our clients while helping claimants regain financial security after traumatic events.

In this team-oriented role, you will have the opportunity to develop professional skills by assuming progressively increasing responsibility including participating in mediations, court settlement conferences, and client meetings both in person & virtually, and presenting CLE programs to the Bench and Bar.

Responsibilities:

• Functions include supporting our attorney clients with closing documents (ICOs in NY; Friendly Judgments in NJ; settlement agreements; etc.) when cases settle for future periodic payments; drafting judgments pursuant to NY CPLR Art. 50-A and 50-B; legal research and writing; and more.
• As noted above, participating in mediations, court settlement conferences, and client meetings both in person & virtually.
• Represent CCI at Bench, Bar and Trial Lawyer association events.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Experience 1-5 years, admission in New York required, admission in New Jersey, a plus.
• Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English - written and spoken) a plus.

Location: Remote / Hybrid - The successful candidate will have the option to primarily work remotely after initial face-to-face (in East Brunswick, NJ) & virtual training.

Salary: We offer a competitive salary starting at $80k + (salary is commensurate with experience).
