Position Summary: The General Director will provide visionary leadership, ensuring the firm’s growth, operational efficiency, and alignment with its mission and values. The role focuses on strategic planning, operational oversight, and team development, while fostering a pro-immigrant advocacy culture. The position requires a minimum three-year commitment in partnership with the Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership:
Collaborate with the Board to define the firm’s vision, mission, and objectives, including multi-year budgets.
Design and implement strategies for growth, enhancing the firm’s reputation in pro-immigrant legal services.
Ensure all transitional and expansion projects align with the firm’s sustainability and growth objectives.
2. Operational Oversight and Business Sustainability:
Oversee directors and review departmental KPIs to ensure efficiency and service excellence.
Establish measurable systems, metrics, and reporting to ensure business results.
Implement action plans for addressing deficits in operations or performance.
Create contingency plans for critical roles and ensure operational continuity.
Collaborate with the Board and financial advisors to establish and monitor the firm’s budget.
3. Team Development:
Foster a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
Mentor and support legal professionals and staff, ensuring high performance.
Retain top talent by creating growth opportunities and fostering satisfaction.
4. Hiring and Personnel Management:
Build a robust leadership team by hiring key departmental heads (e.g., HR Director, Financial Advisor, Legal Director).
Develop plans to address unexpected staffing challenges and ensure the smooth operation of all departments.
5. Communication and Advocacy:
Serve as the firm’s spokesperson, promoting its mission and values.
Advocate for pro-immigrant policies and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to advance immigrant rights.
6. Feedback and Evaluation:
Establish clear KPIs and regularly evaluate the firm’s performance.
Develop and implement action plans for continuous improvement, with input from the Board and stakeholders.
