American Bar Association (ABA) Membership: Membership in the Bar Association is an added value for directing an international law firm focused on U.S. law.

Position Summary: We are seeking a strategic, dynamic, and visionary Immigration Director to lead our firm into its next phase of growth and innovation. The Immigration Director will oversee the firm’s legal operations and ensure that the organization thrives through sound legal and business practices, supporting a self-sufficient and sustainable business model. This position requires managing the firm’s legal strategies, operations, and financial performance while maintaining alignment with the firm's mission, values, and goals. The ideal candidate will possess significant expertise in legal management, a strong commitment to pro-immigrant advocacy, and exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and organizational skills. The Immigration Director must commit to a minimum tenure of three (3) years.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborate with other Directors to define and articulate the firm's legal vision, mission, and strategic objectives.

  • Develop and implement long-term strategies to promote the firm’s growth, enhance its reputation, and solidify its position as a leader in pro-immigrant legal services.

Legal Operations Management & Business Sustainability

  • Supervise the legal department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of legal services to clients.

  • Monitor performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate team success.

  • Ensure all legal operations are conducted within the firm’s established budget, aligning legal and business objectives.

  • Proactively ensure compliance with internal and external legal regulations, developing action plans for any deficiencies.

  • Oversee the creation and implementation of measurable systems and reporting structures to guarantee operational success.

  • Manage unforeseen events to ensure business continuity, delegating tasks as necessary.

Team Development and Leadership

  • Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture within the legal department.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse legal team to achieve excellence in client service.

  • Retain and grow top legal talent by offering professional development and fostering a respectful work environment.

Hiring and Management of Legal Personnel

  • Oversee the recruitment, development, and management of senior legal professionals and supervisory roles.

  • Address operational challenges, such as staffing disruptions or legal reforms, to maintain business continuity.

Communication and Advocacy

  • Serve as the primary legal spokesperson for the firm, articulating its mission and values to stakeholders, clients, and the public.

  • Advocate for pro-immigrant policies, collaborating with organizations and government agencies to advance immigrant rights.

Performance Metrics and Feedback

  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to evaluate legal performance and implement action plans for improvements.

  • Foster open communication, regularly soliciting feedback from staff, clients, and the Board to enhance services and operations.

Board Collaboration and Reporting

  • Work closely with the Board of Directors, providing regular updates on legal and operational progress.

  • Collaborate with the Board on legal and business expansion decisions, ensuring all significant strategies are approved through a voting process.

Flexibility and Adaptability

  • Adapt to evolving legal landscapes and organizational needs, implementing strategies to address new challenges and maintain success.
