ROLE SUMMARY

Regional Management Corp. seeks a CCO to become a part of the executive management team. The CCO will oversee the company’s compliance management program; evaluate compliance issues, concerns, and opportunities for improvement within the organization; remain informed of new laws, rules, regulations, regulatory enforcement and supervisory actions, and other regulatory trends impacting the consumer finance industry and the broader financial services industry; and advise the company’s Board of Directors and management as to how such items may be relevant to and impact the company’s operations.  The CCO will also lead the company’s government and regulatory affairs and state and federal lobbying efforts related to the consumer finance industry.  This c-suite position ensures that the company is in compliance with the laws, rules, and regulations governing and related to the consumer finance industry; that company policies and procedures are followed; that behavior in the organization meets the standards established by the company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and is consistent with a strong culture of compliance; and that the company is proactively involved in advocacy and lobbying efforts aimed at improving state and federal laws and regulations to benefit both the company and its customers. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of six years of experience in the compliance field (multi-state experience a plus);
  • Law degree and admission to a state bar preferred;
  • Financial services industry experience preferred, or alternative exposure to complex regulated sector;
  • Government and regulatory affairs experience;
  • Strong leadership and people management skills;
  • Ability to research laws and regulations;
  • Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, professional written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment
