INVENTIONS AND PROPRIETARY INFORMATION AGREEMENT (IPIA) AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP) AGREEMENT ADMINISTRATOR, Office of Strategic Alliances and Technology Transfer (OSATT)-Technology Licensing Office (TLO), to be responsible for implementing, drafting, and revising the IPIAs necessary for compliance with federal regulations and protection of MIT intellectual property. Will manage and maintain Institute-wide processes and procedures for the efficient collection of IPIAs from faculty, staff, researchers, and visitors across MIT and the provision of education and information about IP ownership and IPIAs; draft basic IP agreements, including joint invention agreements (JIAs) and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) in support of the TLO licensing team activities; supervise an administrative assistant responsible for IPIA data entry and other administrative tasks related to IPIA management; and represent the TLO and OSATT at a variety of meetings and events involving international, national, university, state and local government officials and industry representatives.
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree (J.D. preferred); at least five years’ experience drafting and analyzing legal documents; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; excellent problem-solving skills for addressing complex business, interpersonal, and inter-organizational issues; diplomacy and a collaborative approach to developing and maintaining effective working relationships; and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
