The American Civil Liberties Union of Washington (ACLU-WA) is seeking an Information and Referral Program Managing Attorney (IRP Managing Attorney) to manage the ACLU-WA’s information and referral service statewide. The ACLU-WA receives approximately four thousand requests for legal assistance each year, through phone messages, mail and our online complaint form. The Managing Attorney will be responsible for managing all aspects of the ACLU-WA’s response to these requests, including hiring, training, and supervising intake volunteers and interns; screening requests for assistance to provide a meaningful response to all complainants.

The ACLU of Washington is currently redesigning all aspects of its intake program. This position would spearhead the development, implementation, and rollout of these changes and oversee the program’s day-to-day operations.

This position is eligible for either a work phone or phone stipend, as well as an additional $100 stipend each month to help cover any additional costs while working from home.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ACLU of WA is dedicated to centering equity in all aspects of the organization and, as such, has adopted a salary scale for measuring how to best compensate its employees. The salary for this position is $77,200 – $85,940. A range indicates the intention to accommodate those with varying years of relevant experience, as determined by the salary scale.
Benefits include three weeks of vacation, thirteen sick days, fifteen holidays, fully paid employee medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance, a generous retirement plan, and an ORCA card, the regional transportation pass.
