The New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) is a nonpartisan not-for-profit corporation that conducts research and advocacy on a wide range of issues, including consumer protection and economic justice, voting rights, higher education access and affordability, access to the courts, and environmental preservation.  Since 1973, NYPIRG has been instrumental in the passage of over 150 pieces of legislation at the state and local levels and trained college students and other New Yorkers to effectively participate in civic decisions.

NYPIRG Consumer Program Attorney -- NYC               The New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) seeks a Consumer Program Attorney to direct the day-to-day operations of the Small Claims Court Action Centers (“Action Centers”), play a leadership role in NYPIRG’s consumer protection policy work, and implement the organization’s multi-issue program work on the New York City campus where they are based.   Qualifications             This position requires a law degree or equivalent and admission to the New York State Bar or admission pending after passage of the bar examination. A background in consumer advocacy, planning and presenting public education workshops in a variety of settings, and issue or political organizing are desirable background for this multi-faceted position.
