U.S. Environmental Protection Agency - Region 2

The U.S. EPA's mission is to protect human health and the environment. Since 1970, EPA has been working for a cleaner, healthier environment for the American people.  EPA employees approximately 14,000 employees spread between our 12 Headquarter’s based Program Offices, 10 Regional Offices, and numerous Labs across the country. EPA employs a highly educated, technically trained staff, more than half of whom are engineers, scientists, and lawyers. In addition, many employees are program analysts, environmental protection specialists, IT specialists, public affairs specialists, human resources specialists, and/or financial specialists.  EPA is led by our Administrator, who is appointed by the President of the United States.
